1992 WASHINGTON REDSKINS TEAM AUTOGRAPHED FOOTBALL HELMET

The 1992 Washington Redskins followed their unlikely Super Bowl triumph in 1991 with a solid 9-7 season, good enough for a playoff berth and a first round wild card matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The Redskins defested the Vikings, but would lose in the divisional round of the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers, 20-13. There are approximately 45 different autographs on this helmet, including many that are difficult to decipher. I can make out enough autos (about a dozen or so including: Cary Conklin, Robert Green, Chip Lohmiller, Brian Mitchell, the Frank Herzog/Sam Huff/Sonny Jurgensen announcing team, Art Monk, I believe) to determine that this was autographed in ’92, but beyond that, a little extra research will pan out exactly who signed this full size pro quality Riddell helmet. The strength of the black sharpie signatures varies slightly depending on where the signer placed their auto…if they signed on a sticker, it can be somewhat faded, if they signed on the helmet, the auto is likely a 9-10 quality sig.

LaDainian Tomlinson Autographed San Diego Chargers Baby Blue Jersey

For a number of years, LaDainian Tomlinson was the first name in NFL offensive production. The six-time all-NFL running back won the 2006 NFL MVP after a year that saw him set records for touchdowns and scoring of remarkable proportions as he seemingly ran off three touchdowns against everyone in helping the Chargers to a 14-2 record. Tomlinson remains a future Hall of Famer as he is not eligible for induction…but once he becomes eligible, Tomlinson’s statistical largesse (including a top ten guy in nearly every significant running back category at the time of his retirement) will carry him to Canton. The Chargers home baby blue jerseys reminiscent of the 60’s teams remain one of the favorites of both the team and fans everywhere. This stitched-on-everything Reebok size 54 On-Field example came to us from a former NFL team employee and is as good as could be purchased at the time. LaDainian signed the reverse “2” of this jersey with a huge black sharpie autograph.

Dan Marino Autographed University Of Pittsburgh Blue Jersey

The Big-Man-On-Campus in early 1980’s Pittsburgh, Dan had all of the observable tools to become a Hall of Fame caliber pocket passer: tall with good vision, decent footwork to deliver the ball, and a leader for the offense. The one observable, yet nearly unbelievable quality that put the butts in the seats was the cannon of a right arm Marino possessed. A short take back led to accurate, rifle-like strikes in every direction. Marino was drafted from the Pitt Panthers to the Miami Dolphins, where Dan went on to set almost every significant passing record in the NFL record books. Dan signed the reverse “1” of this deep blue stitched jersey with a huge black sharpie autograph.

Jerry Rice Autographed 8" x 10" Framed Photo

Jerry remains the answer to one of the few sports arguments that rarely sparks controversy, namely, “who is the greatest wide receiver to ever play?” Jerry obliterated every receiving record to such an extent that even in the pass-happy NFL of the last ten years, no one has even approached Rice’s career numbers. Jerry even breaks into the conversation as to the greatest football player of all-time for many a loquacious fan. Holding himself to the highest of standards, the shoe-in Hall of Famer won three Super Bowls during his time with the 49ers, playing a pivotal role in the 29th edition by catching a 44-yard touchdown on the third play from scrimmage despite suffering from a separated shoulder. Jerry signed this photo in perfectly dark black sharpie which has been framed to approximately 14 1/2″ x 16 1/2″.

Joe Montana Autographed 8" x 10" Framed Photo

Super Joe helped the Fightin’ Irish to a National Championship in 1978, prompting San Francisco 49ers new Head Coach Bill Walsh to scout Montana for the offense he wanted to run in San Francisco. Walsh saw Montana’s footwork studying film before the draft, and knew that Montana was the right guy for what would become the “West Coast” offense. Walsh was right, and Joe Montana led the 49ers to end the Dallas Cowboys dynasty of the late 70’s, and usher in the 49ers dynasty of the 1980s. Four Super Bowl victories later, and most experts agreed that Montana was at the front, or at least a part of, the all-time quarterback Mount Rushmore. Joe signed this photo in black sharpie that gives the appearance of a dark brown, and the pic has been framed to a size of approximately 14 1/2″ X 16 1/2″.
