1960 WORLD CHAMPION BOSTON CELTICS AUTOGRAPHED FRAMED PHOTO

The Boston Celtics dynasty of the 1960’s began when they won their second consecutive World Championship following the 1959-60 NBA season. The Celtics exacted revenge on the St. Louis Hawks in an exciting seven-game set, the same Hawks that had defeated the Celtics two years earlier in the Finals. Little did the world know at that time that the NBA would not crown a new champion until 1967. This photo has been autographed by the Hall of Fame starting five of Boston’s finest in blue sharpie that has aged to a solid blue/gray giving a certain vintage look: Tommy Heinsohn, Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Bill Sharman, and Jack Ramsay. The Celtics autographed these large format images at a Celtics reunion that took place in the 1990’s and is well known in hobby circles. Each signed perfectly near their image and this image, framed to approximately 20″ x 24 1/2″ is ready to hang.

KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR/JOHN WOODEN AUTOGRAPHED FRAMED PIECE

When Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) decided he would attend UCLA beginning in 1966, UCLA Head Coach John Wooden received the young man who would perhaps become the greatest college basketball player in history. UCLA ran off three straight National Championships between 1967-1969, and had an overall record of 88-2 during Alcindor’s time on the varsity squad. These years coincided with the middle of the greatest run of college basketball any school has ever had as UCLA won an unparalleled ten championships in 12 years, including a run of seven straight. It is well known the NCAA outlawed the dunk while Kareem attended UCLA, seemingly because of the incredible advantage it provided him. Two cut signatures of both Kareem and Wooden enhance this photo snapped following UCLA’s victory in the 1968 NCAA National Championship. Most notably, Kareem penned his full name and added a “1/84″ date, right in the middle of the Lakers heyday. Collectors know well how difficult a full name Kareem can be to obtain. The photo and signatures have been matted in blue and gold and framed to an approximately 14″ x 20” size and awaits hanging in your favorite spot on the wall.

KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR/WILT CHAMBERLAIN AUTOGRAPHED FRAMED PIECE

Casual fans and basketball pundits alike recognize how thoroughly Wilt Chamberlain dominated the NBA competition of the 1960s. When the Milwaukee Bucks won a coin flip and the right to pick number 1 in the 1969 draft, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar arrived in the Eastern Conference ready to take on all comers. In one of Wilt Chamberlain’s famous unabashedly frank interviews, Wilt said that when he initially faced Kareem and his incomparable sky hook, Wilt realized, for the first time in his career, that he was going to need help guarding somebody. For the remainder of Wilt and Kareem’s time on the hardwood, there remained at least a mild competitive disdain between the two Hall of Fame centers – the two of them simply did not get along. For several years it was known throughout the hobby that Kareem would not autograph items already signed by Wilt Chamberlain. This item features an original Malcolm Emmons black and white news photo of Wilt and Kareem, autographed by Kareem in perfect silver paint pen at a recent show appearance. Mounted immediately below the photo is a PSA/DNA encapsulated 3″ x 5″ autograph of Wilt Chamberlain. The piece has been matted and framed to an overall size of approximately 10 1/2″ x 18 1/2″.

KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR/GEORGE MIKAN/SHAQUILLE O'NEAL AUTOGRAPHED FRAMED SPORTS ILLUSTRATED

From the late 1940’s and the inception of the Lakers franchise, through to the Lakers dynasty of the early aughts, the Lakers have been known to foster some of the greatest centers in professional basketball history. In 1996, the Los Angeles Lakers pulled off one of the greatest free agent signings ever as they lured all-world center Shaquille O’Neal from the Orlando Magic to the Forum Blue and Gold. Recognizing the lineage of Hall of Fame centers who also happened to be the biggest stars in the game playing for the Lakers, Sports Illustrated put three distinct generations of Laker centers on the cover of its 1996 NBA preview issue. New kid on the block Shaquille O’Neal is flanked over his shoulders by all-time leading scorer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and the professional game’s first superstar, George Mikan. We had this Sports Illustrated cover signed by Kareem and Mikan at signings they did at a local show, and the tickets/authenticity cards from the signings are shown on the reverse. We finally had the chance to add Shaquille O’Neal at a recent local signing to complete this essential Lakers signed item. Each of the three blue sharpie signatures remains as bold and clear as the day each was signed. The SI has been matted and framed to an overall size of approximately 12″ x 15″ and is ready to hang.

ELGIN BAYLOR AUTOGRAPHED BLUE AND WHITE LOS ANGELES LAKERS THROWBACK JERSEY

Ask anyone who played against Elgin where Michael Jordan got all of his moves from, the near-unanimous answer is “Elgin Baylor.” Few had the physical skill, aerial ability or body control of Elgin Baylor in the 1960s. Elgin was originally drafted #1 overall by the Minneapolis edition of the Lakers in 1958 out of Seattle University, and the Lakers owner at the time told the Los Angeles Times years later that if Elgin had not come to the Lakers when he did providing the Lakers with a gate attraction, the franchise would have had to fold. Shortly thereafter, Elgin moved with the team to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, Elgin teamed with Jerry West to form one of the most formidable small forward/shooting guard tandems ever. This size “L” Los Angeles Lakers throwback jersey displays the blue and white colorway utilized by the team following their move to Los Angeles. Elgin penned his autograph in solid silver on the reverse, contrasting with the dark blue “2” where the signature sits. This jersey makes a striking display as is, and awaits framing by its future owner. This jersey was autographed by Elgin during an in-store appearance at the Upper Deck Store several years ago, and will arrive with their matching card and hologram style certificate of authenticity.

1992 WASHINGTON REDSKINS TEAM AUTOGRAPHED FOOTBALL HELMET

The 1992 Washington Redskins followed their unlikely Super Bowl triumph in 1991 with a solid 9-7 season, good enough for a playoff berth and a first round wild card matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The Redskins defested the Vikings, but would lose in the divisional round of the playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers, 20-13. There are approximately 45 different autographs on this helmet, including many that are difficult to decipher. I can make out enough autos (about a dozen or so including: Cary Conklin, Robert Green, Chip Lohmiller, Brian Mitchell, the Frank Herzog/Sam Huff/Sonny Jurgensen announcing team, Art Monk, I believe) to determine that this was autographed in ’92, but beyond that, a little extra research will pan out exactly who signed this full size pro quality Riddell helmet. The strength of the black sharpie signatures varies slightly depending on where the signer placed their auto…if they signed on a sticker, it can be somewhat faded, if they signed on the helmet, the auto is likely a 9-10 quality sig.

NOLAN RYAN AUTOGRAPHED TEXAS RANGERS HOME JERSEY

The undisputed strikeout king of all-time, it is hard for anyone to imagine a future pitcher striking out 5,000 batters in his career, much less 5,714 as Nolan did. The ageless wonder who told young pitchers that his power developed from his legs, not from his arm or his shoulder, also authored an unmatched seven no-hitters, the final one occurring against the Toronto Blue Jays when Nolan was a ripe 44-years young. Who can forget Nolan giving Robin Ventura a “noogie” (as Ventura called it) after Ventura rushed the mound in Nolan’s final season of 1993…then Nolan, 20 years older than Robin, being allowed to stay in the game and not allowing another hit the rest of the night!? Nolan is the stuff of legend. Nolan signed the right front of this Russell Athletic Diamond Collection jersey in perfect blue sharpie. The autograph has been authenticated by JSA and accompanying the jersey will be their full letter-style Letter of Authenticity.

1963 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers Team Autographed Doug Camilli Bat

The 1963 Los Angeles Dodgers finally brought together everything that the Dogers needed to put together a World Champion. Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale were in their pitching prime, the Dodgers enjoyed their second year in their new digs of Dodger Stadium, and the Dodgers met the New York Yankees in the World Series. The Dodgers seemingly avenged many a Fall Classic loss and swept the New York Yankees right out of Dodger Stadium in the World Series winning 4-0. This is a Doug Camilli bat right off the rack autographed by several of the 1963 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers. The bat has been signed by 13 people – 12 that were part of the team in some capacity, and Skipper McNally, who was best known as the most successful gate crasher in history and even has an NFL Films segment about his unparalleled ability to get into the Super Bowl and some of the most iconic images in history. The players who signed the bat include: Maury Wills, Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Walt Alston, Tommy Davis, Bill Skowron (only year with the team), Ron Fairly, Doug Camilli, Johnny Podres, Lee Walls, Ron Perranoski and one other. This is a perfect bat right off the rack with Camilli’s number on the ends and thick black felt autographs of unbelieveable quality.
